Season 6: Episode 01: Dangerous Son When probation officer Andrew Bennett is gunned down in his home, the suspect gets away on a boat docked nearby. The CSIs eventually find the abandoned boat, and the registration leads them to The Mist Cafe, where two of Bennett's parolees work. When parolee Kyle Harmon is brought in for questioning, Horatio is intrigued and somewhat curious about his past. He enlists the help of Yelina Salis, who is now working as a private investigator, to look into his background. She learns that Kyle was shuffled around in various foster homes and that his mother, Julia Eberly, abandoned him. Things prove to be even more complicated when Kyle's birth certificate lists Horatio's old undercover name as his father.
